Wilmington Coins Inc Coin Shop – Coin Dealer – Formerly Don’s Coins
If you are looking for a website for Wilmington Coins Inc., formerly Don’s Coins, you can stop searching because they do not have one. You would think that every business these days would have a website especially coin shops and coin dealers but I suppose there are still a few coin shops and coin dealers that are the exception.
Wilmington Coins Inc., formerly Don’s Coins, is a well known coin dealer in the Wilmington area. The shop has been on Market Street for many years. I’m not exactly sure how many years ago the transition took place where Don’s Coins became Wilmington Coins Inc. but it was a smooth transition and the coin shop has stayed relatively the same.
Wilmington Coins Inc. is a small shop in central Wilmington. Overall I would guess that the store can’t be more than 1,500 square feet or so. Packed in this small area are coin showcases that line the wall to the right when you enter the store with a couple showcases in the center of the store. On the wall that is vacant of coin showcases are shelves with some coin and paper money collecting supplies such as book inserts, currency holders, airtites, etc.
The selection in Wilmington Coins Inc. is somewhat limited when it comes to the coins on display. There are a few modern bullion coins, a selection of gold $2.50 Indians, St. Gaudens, Liberty Dollars, etc. The last time that I was in there, they only had two $10 Gold Indians, which is what I went into the store to look for. As you can imagine, Wilmington Coins Inc. also has the typical coins that you would expect to find in a coin shop such as Morgan Dollars, Peace Dollars, Walkers, Franklins, and others such as those. It is always nice to run across some very rare coins as well such as Flowing Hair Dollars, Draped Bust Dollars, and halves from the late 1700s to early 1800s.
Every time that I am in Wilmington Coins Inc, they have clientele looking for appraisals and quite often buying modern bullion. Overall this is a very nice, small coin shop run by two local coin dealers.
