Easy Beginner Coins To Collect
If you are just getting started in the coin collecting world, Welcome! You will be sure to run across many Indian Head Pennies, Buffalo Nickels, and other great coins to start your collection with. The best place to start is your own change jar, as there are always a few of each of the aforementioned coins floating around.
Below are some photos that I took today of some inexpensive silver coins that I recently came across. Be on the lookout for dimes, quarters, half dollars, and silver dollars minted prior to 1965 because they contain 90% silver and are worth their weight in silver even in very poor condition!
Above are a set of 18 Morgan Silver Dollars. Morgans are possibly the most collected silver dollar. Coins in the condition as shown above are inexpensive and very common. The Morgans above are circulated and there are no key dates mixed in. Although the Morgans in the photo can be bought fairly inexpensively, there are Morgan Dollars that are worth a significant amount of money so always do your research and keep an eye out for quality Morgans to add to your collection.
Here we have a bunch of Kennedy Half Dollars – many of which came from uncirculated rolls. That coin at the bottom of the photo that doesn’t look like the others is a Franklin Half Dollar. All of the coins in the photo were minted prior to 1965 and contain 90% silver.
And to wrap up this post we have coins that you will find all the time when you look for them in your change. Interestingly, 90% silver quarters are the coins that I run across the most on a day to day basis.
Have a great day!!
